About Tea Selection
I usually drink green tea, black tea, or oolong from bubble tea shops. How should I start if I want to try real loose-leaf teas?
It depends on your personal taste and how you plan to enjoy the tea.
But if you're new to loose-leaf teas and mostly drink bottled or shop-bought tea, here are some beginner-friendly suggestions:
•Prefer light floral sweetness? Try lightly oxidized and lightly roasted Li Shan or Alishan oolong.
•Enjoy a richer, deeper finish? Go for Shanlinxi, Dayuling, or medium-roasted teas.
•Pairing with food? Choose teas with distinct character or mild roasted notes, such as Lishan Honey Oolong.

Tip: Start with smaller packs from different regions and discover your personal favorite step by step.
HungCha Crown offers teas from many altitudes. How do I choose? Is higher altitude always better?
Tea TypesHigher doesn’t always mean better—it’s about finding the flavor you enjoy.
At HungCha Crown, we work directly with tea farmers under contract farming agreements, giving us access to stable, high-quality harvests across multiple altitudes.
For example, Alishan teas range from 600–1300m, while Lishan can go as high as 2500m—a rare offering in the market.
This diversity allows you to explore how the same mountain expresses different flavors at different heights.
In short: The best tea is the one you love.
We offer teas from various altitudes not to rank them, but to give you more freedom to explore the full range of what tea can be.

Do I need to refrigerate tea after opening? How should I store it?
If unopened, store in a cool, dry, dark place. Once opened, if you’ll finish it soon, you can simply seal it with a clip and keep it in an airtight container.
If you’re concerned about humidity or odor, refrigeration is an option—just make sure to let it return to room temperature before opening, to avoid moisture condensation that can damage the tea.
Tip: Always reseal tightly and avoid direct light or heat.
Do you recommend any brewing methods or ratios? Do I need a teapot or can I use a tea bag?
Tea Brewing StepsPlease refer to our Tea Mastery → Brewing Guide for detailed instructions.
Can I drink tea during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
We recommend drinking tea in moderation and choosing low-caffeine options, such as lightly oxidized teas or cold brews.
Avoid strong brews, heavily roasted teas, and drinking tea on an empty stomach.
If you have special health concerns, please consult your doctor to find the safest intake level.
